The 1st US-Asia Sustainable Development Summit Focuses on Cross-Field Cooperation

SinoVision reporter Li Zhou, reporting from Boston: The first US-Asia Sustainable Development Summit was recently held at Harvard University. Representatives from the political, academic, and business sectors of both the US and China gathered to share achievements in addressing climate change and environmental protection and to explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation and communication.

Summit chairman Jerry Huang emphasized that global sustainable development issues have significantly impacted the lives of people worldwide. He stated, "We hope to use this platform at Harvard University to foster exchanges and cooperation among policymakers, entrepreneurs, scholars, and young representatives from the US and Asia, to jointly promote global sustainable development"

The summit engaged in panel discussions and open dialogues, exploring topics such as green technology and industrial development, academic and policy research collaboration, green finance, green cities and buildings, youth influence, and international cooperation, aiming to find innovative solutions to climate change and global environmental challenges.

Robert Hertzberg, Former Representative of the California State Senate and Former Speaker of the California State Assembly, mentioned in the discussion, "When governments strive to create economic opportunities for citizens and residents, they must consider the challenges faced globally. We need to find a way to balance competition with cooperation, respect local consumer behaviors, and enhance economic and labor value".

Brad Li, President of Americas, DG LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd., pointed out that achieving energy security, energy equality, and environmental sustainability simultaneously is often challenging. "Every country and region must find a balance among these three. In our industry, the photovoltaic sector, we are committed to providing safe, economical, and environmentally friendly energy solutions"
